About Boilerterms

Over the years, I’ve come to realize that there is a disconnect between professors who write about contracts and the attorneys who draft (and litigate) these contracts for a living.  The goal of Boilerterms is to build on insights derived from scholarship to make demystify contract boilerplate and make the lives of drafters and litigators easier.

About the Author

I am a law professor at the University of North Carolina. Prior to joining the faculty at UNC, I clerked for a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, practiced corporate law at Covington & Burling LLP, and taught legal writing at Harvard Law School.
